Senegal ‘Innovating for Mothers’ Jury
Launched in April 2020, the national challenge “Innovating for Mothers – Jappalé sunu Yaye” aims at identifying and supporting innovative and entrepreneurial initiatives for maternal and newborn health in Senegal that are ready to grow their impact. The Challenge has been made possible through a partnership between Mothers at Risk, Reach for Change (a social entrepreneurship incubator/accelerator), and The Ella Fund (a philanthropy fund focused on female entrepreneurship, health care and education).
Among the many qualified applicants, seven strong candidates reached the semi-finals and three in turn have become the challenge’s finalists. We are proud to announce the Jury members who will serve on the final pitch and selection:
Dr. Dr. France Donnay (President, Mothers at Risk Fund, King Baudouin Foundation) – President of the Jury
Adama Kane (Ashoka Fellow; Founder and CEO, Jokko Health)
Dr Isabelle Moreira (Obstetrician Gynecologist; UNFPA Expert)
Erin Gainer (Founder, Ella Fund)
Dr. Rachel Hammonds (Trustee, Mothers at Risk asbl)
The jury also consults practicing maternal health specialists from Dakar’s leading hospitals. The winner(s) of the Innovating for Mothers challenge will be announced in early November.
