LOU CASA// Chansons de Barbara à ce jour

Please join us for this exciting private concert featuring LOU CASA (contemporary music, improvised music, chansons, multi-artistic encounters) led by Marc Casa and the latest project of the collective – Chansons de Barbara.

Since the release of the EP Chansons de Barbara in early 2016, and the concert at the Cafe de la Danse sold out 2 weeks before the event, the group – in trio for this project – found enthusiastic resonance in the press (Télérama, L’Obs’, France Music, AFP) and with audiences of all generations; notably for their distinctly original interpretation and arrangements and their intensity emanating from the extraordinary texts and music from Barbara’s repertoire.
As a trio, LOU CASA make the songs of Barbara their own. They did not specially privilege Barbara’s signature songs – except perhaps in the case of Perlimpinpin – and preferred a more intimate poetry in tune with her sensitivity. The piano fluctuates between sleek and voluptuous lines accompanied by an electric bass on the margin. They mix with a 70’s organ and some percussion. In this finely arranged music, the voice seems natural – as it speaks and feels – with its imperfections, its timbres, its cracks, deep and determined.
You are cordially invited to a cocktail following the musical event. All proceeds will benefit Mothers at Risk, an independent non-profit organisation committed to promoting woman-centred respectful maternal health care and to saving the lives of vulnerable mothers and babies who live in urban poverty.

The minimal contribution per seat is €30, however any donation above this is most welcome. Please note that the minimum contribution fee of €30 for the concert does not qualify for a tax-free exemption.
