Our Projects
Our Guiding Principles
  • We believe in the right to health as a basic human right. We believe that the human rights of women and the child are an inalienable, integral and indivisible part of universal human rights. We believe that women and babies have the right to safe pregnancies and births.

  • We believe that women have a right to reproductive health. We believe women should have the right to control their own fertility to best ensure their own wellbeing and that of their children and families, because child and mother survival is closely linked to the timing, spacing and number of births and to the reproductive health of mothers.

  • We believe in the right to education, and in the importance of education for the promotion of health and a safer motherhood.

  • We endorse the Millennium Development Goals (the Goals set by the international community to be reached by 2015) in particular Goal 5 (Improve maternal health), Goal 4 (reduce child mortality) and Goal 3 (promote gender equality and empower women).

  • We believe in gender equality and equity and the empowerment of women; we also believe in gender partnerships and in the importance of the involvement of fathers and husbands in the ensuring the wellbeing of women, children and families.
